We are not living God’s will for our lives by default: we must choose to do his will once we are saved and coming to a knowledge of the truth. Jesus lived, died and resurrected – fact. But we are not saved by default. How we choose to live in response to his life will determine whether or not we see heaven. He is “the greatest and the only love.” Jesus is THE definer. He defines what love is (1 John 3:16), as he does every thing (“in everything he [has] the supremacy” – Colossians 1:18). This is how we can say the Bible does not lend itself to private ‘interpretation’, but is the defining book (of which God was and is the ‘author’ – Acts 3:15). B.I.B.L.E. can be read as an acronym: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. So we should read the Bible, speak the Bible, live the Bible. But we must do so in faith and with a humble heart. God is not negotiating. He is out to save us – from ourselves and from the enemy of our souls, Satan. Why am I saying all this? Because I believe people are walking around this planet hellbound, so nonchalantly secure in their own definitions of things but oblivious to the definer of love, their own life’s author, Jesus. I hope you agree? And if not today, I hope tomorrow you will. Love Simon.
